Development Sites Suggestions
DEVELOPMENT SITES FOR THE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK
Chorley, Preston, and South Ribble Councils are working together on the big planning issues that we face as many of these are very similar and together we can focus more clearly on what we want to achieve through the process of planning our communities. Joint working has begun on our Local Development Frameworks, which will replace our current Local Plans. A consultation on the issues and options for the Core Strategy was carried out earlier this year.
As part of our Local Development Frameworks each authority need to identify land to be allocated as development sites. Documents will be produced showing sites for specific development uses such as housing, employment, leisure, retail as well as community activities such as playspace or a mix of these uses. These documents build on the Core Strategy work hence a combined approach in the identification and assessment of possible sites is also being followed. This enables a consistent consideration of sites to be carried out across the three authorities areas.
If you have, or know of, land or other premises that you wish to be considered for any of the above uses anywhere within the three authorities areas please fill in the appropriate form and return it to “FREEPOST Central Lancashire City LDF” along with a map showing the site and its boundaries by Friday 3 August 2007 (6 weeks) to ensure suggestions will be considered. The form is available on the DOWNLOADS page of this website or paper copies can be obtained by phoning 01257 515295. The questions to be answered on the form cover key locational factors that you can help inform us of but they do not cover all the matters that will be assessed. Details of the suggestions received will be publicly available. Please note that we will only consider sites that are 0.4 hectares or greater.
